In 1976, in celebration of the American Bicentennial, Steven Spurrier, a wine-shop owner in Paris, organized a blind tasting, pitting renowned reds from Bordeaux and whites from Burgundy against Cabernet Sauvignons and Chardonnays from California - varietals considered the exclusive domain of the French.

This group of California wineries, including Chateau Montelena, Clos Du Val, Freemark Abbey, Spring Mountain Vineyard, and Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, among others, put Napa Valley firmly on the world stage. To mark the 40th anniversary of this historic event, we've created a special Passport tasting portfolio that allows you to experience these groundbreaking wineries.

To celebrate, we are offering a limited amount of tasting passports for you to enjoy elevated experiences at five of the participating wineries, all within the beautiful Napa Valley.

Your tasting passport will include the following:

Chateau Montelena Winery: We invite you to enjoy our popular Limited Release Tasting, a unique seated tasting experience in the private Library Room that includes older vintages of both the Napa Valley Chardonnay and Estate Cabernet Sauvignons among others. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED

Freemark Abbey: Our Collector's Cabernet Tasting is an in-depth experience that walks you through our current Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon releases from the historic Bosche and Sycamore Vineyards on the Rutherford Bench. We'll also feature special and limited release Cabernets. RESERVATIONS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED

Spring Mountain Winery: Experience the beauty and history of Spring Mountain Vineyard during a tasting of five estate grown wines from current and library vintages. Your guided sensory exploration takes place in the 1885 Villa Miravalle or in the 19th century caves. An informative walk around the the Miravalle Vineyard, with its opulent gardens and pastoral vistas offers a feast for all your senses. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED

Stag's Leap Wine Cellars: Estate Collection flight showcases our finest wines from our FAY and SLV estate vineyards, including our highly collected CASK 23. RESERVATIONS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED
