1/20/2015 - St. Helena, CA – The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) nonprofit wine trade association announced its 2015 board of directors and officers at its annual general membership meeting held today at the Lincoln Theater in Yountville.
Second generation vintner David Duncan, president and chief executive officer of Silver Oak and Twomey Cellars, was named chairman of the board for the year. Other officers are Emma Swain, chief executive officer of St. Supéry Estate Vineyards & Winery who will serve as vice-chair and Doug Shafer, president of Shafer Vineyards, will continue for the second year as the NVV’s board treasurer/secretary.
“I’m honored to lead the board of the Napa Valley Vintners in our commitment to cultivating excellence for the Napa Valley in the areas of winemaking, sustainability and caring for our local community,” commented Duncan at the meeting. “With more than 500 winery members and 70 years of history, the NVV is the voice of the Napa Valley wine region and I look forward to continuing the tradition of leadership established by the vintners who have come before me.”
The other members of the 2015 NVV board include Susan Boswell, owner, Chateau Boswell Winery; Michael Honig, president, Honig Vineyard & Winery; Paul Leary, president, Blackbird Vineyards; Peter McCrea, proprietor, Stony Hill Vineyard; Rob Mondavi Jr., owner, Michael Mondavi Family Estate; David Pearson, chief executive officer, Opus One; Hailey Trefethen, vintner, Trefethen Family Vineyards; and Russ Weis, general manager, Silverado Vineyards. Weis was also recognized during the meeting for his role as outgoing chair for 2014.
