Napa Valley Vintners Hosting 20 Key Trade and Media from Japan Next Week

Experience Napa Valley educational immersion will highlight more than 50 Napa Valley wineries

4/3/2014 - St. Helena, CA--The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) trade organization is hosting 20 key wine influencers from Japan for Experience Napa Valley, a four-day immersion into Napa Valley, its wine, winemakers and vineyards, beginning Tuesday, April 8.

Throughout the program, highly regarded sommeliers, educators, media, retailers and hotel and restaurant professionals from Japan will interact with winemakers and principals from more than 50 NVV member wineries and will taste nearly 100 different Napa Valley wines. Guided tastings, panel discussions and in-the-vineyard experiences will cover a wide range of topics, including a Cabernet Sauvignon tasting and panel discussion; a terroir tour of Napa Valley’s unique soils, climate and topography; a reception and dinner with multi-generation, family-owned wineries; a comparative tasting of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir; a bud-break vineyard experience; a wine blending experience; and meals featuring some of Napa Valley’s unique grape varieties and library and sparkling wines.

"One of the best ways to share the Napa Valley story is to bring someone here to taste the wines, experience the scenic beauty and witness the vintner camaraderie that have made our wine region one of the most recognized and respected in the world,” noted Linda Reiff, president and CEO of the NVV. “We look forward to hosting these culinary and beverage leaders from one of the top export countries for Napa Valley wine.”
