Napa Valley Vintners Inspire Community to Eat, Shop, Drink Local this Holiday Season

Napa County residents can enter to win a $250 shopping spree in their community

12/2/2013 - St. Helena, CA--The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV), along with the five Napa County chambers of commerce, is encouraging community members to eat, shop and drink locally this holiday season. To promote the idea of supporting area businesses, the NVV is offering the chance to win one of five $250 shopping sprees in the communities of American Canyon, Napa, Yountville, St. Helena and Calistoga. Napa County residents can enter at napavintners.com with a deadline of December 15, 2013.

The "Eat, Shop, Drink Local" campaign encourages local residents to support the restaurants, stores and wineries that play a vital role in Napa County's character and economy. "With the beauty and bounty that surrounds us in Napa Valley, there are many fine wines, artisan products and world-renowned eateries providing an abundance of gift-giving possibilities that also reflect the spirit of our community," noted Linda Reiff, president and CEO of the NVV. "Sharing these treasures with friends and family also helps create local jobs and supports the business owners who contribute all year to our economy."

This year, the NVV is also recommending its recently published Perspective Napa Valley fine art photography book as a holiday gift. Featuring works by St. Helena-based photographer Sam Aslanian, the coffee table book showcases the flavor of the Napa Valley community through unique and hauntingly beautiful photos taken on long-expired, high-speed film. Purchase Perspective Napa Valley at napavintners.com.

Further promoting the idea of local support for area businesses, the NVV sponsors the Napa Neighbor program whereby local residents can enjoy elevated wine tasting experiences, discounts on wine purchases and other special offers at the tasting rooms of more than 150 NVV member wineries. The NVV reminds Napa County residents to take advantage of these great offers when making holiday gift purchases or looking for fun things to do with guests in town. The list of participating wineries and their offers is available at napavintners.com.
