6/15/2021 - St. Helena, CA – Napa Valley Vintners proudly announces the next chapter in its efforts to care for its community with the creation of Collective Napa Valley.
Last year, NVV announced it would wrap up Auction Napa Valley in its current format and redefine how a world-class wine region fundraises for the good of its community. Collective Napa Valley is a new and expanded year-round philanthropy program that brings people together with a common purpose.
“We are a community with a collective passion for our wine, our land and our people. We also understand the importance of the greater community of wine enthusiasts who share in our love of Napa Valley. Collective Napa Valley is a celebration of just this. A joining together of winemakers and wine lovers with a common passion for doing good,” said Linda Reiff, President and CEO of Napa Valley Vintners.
NVV’s goals are to use this new and multi-faceted platform to establish a revolutionary way to lead the Napa Valley wine region, provide an opportunity for the wine community to connect with a broader and more diverse consumer audience and leverage the regions assets for the good of its community.
“Our vision with Collective Napa Valley is to expand our wine community and to provide a variety of ways throughout the year to engage Napa Valley wine consumers in our backyard and anywhere in the world,” said Blakesley Chappellet, Auction Napa Valley past chair and co-leader of the Auction Napa Valley reimagining committee.
Seasonal campaigns will include special elements such as:
A structure of tiered options to access special offerings will be created and announced at a later date. NVV will also seek to partner with organizations with common values who will join in its philanthropic efforts.
“As with any new undertaking, we expect Collective Napa Valley to grow and evolve over time. We are committed to remaining open to new and innovative methods to share our wines and raise funds for the Napa Valley community,” said Jack Bittner, Managing Partner at OVID. Napa Valley and Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Napa Valley Vintners.
Several aspects of this new charitable endeavor significantly expand on prior efforts. Seasonal campaigns will engage wine enthusiasts around specific fundraising themes.
“We are extremely proud and humbled by the more than $200 million given to care for and support the Napa Valley community over the last 40 years. Through Collective Napa Valley, we will come together more often and each endeavor will be tied to an established financial target with a specific theme for giving” said John Hamilton, community board member.
The NVV will make more announcements in fall about its seasonal opportunities, but one date is set. The first gathering of Collective Napa Valley will be the week of June 1-5, 2022 and will include The Napa Valley Futures Auction and other activities that week.
