Crosby Roamann is a small winery consumed with the idea of creating honest, handmade wines. This passion stems from an age-old belief that every vineyard is special, every vintage is unique, and each wine is distinct. The process is not easy. It starts with careful vineyard selection and management, a vigilant crush, and traditional winemaking practices. It’s this hands-on, labor-intensive process that ultimately creates a wine that truly has character and history – only then is a wine given the Crosby Roamann name.
Our philosophy is that the greatest wines are made with as little intervention as possible between the fruit on the vine and the wine in the glass. For this reason, every action we take on the crush-pad and in the cellar is balanced against the precept that the less we interfere with the natural expression of the harvest, the better the wines will ultimately be.
Our goal as vintners is to produce wines that reflect the soul and substance of the places from which they come. We therefore strive to make wines from sub-appellations within the greater Napa Valley — such as Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon, Oak Knoll Merlot, Carneros Chardonnay, and St. Helena Sauvignon Blanc. We believe that these wines offer the purest expressions of Napa Valley available, which is why we produce such wines only from special vineyards in exceptional years.
