Tuck Beckstoffer and his family moved to the Napa Valley in 1975 to begin their lives in the California Grape Growing business. Tuck’s love of farming and wine making began almost immediately upon their arrival. The Beckstoffer family is now recognized as the premier grape growing family in the Napa Valley.

As a young man, Tuck spent his summers working alongside field crews and operating equipment in Beckstoffer owned and managed vineyards; learning the grape-growing business literally from the ground up. After schooling, Tuck ventured out into the world of wine-making, working in such famous wineries as: Cakebread Cellars, Far Niente and Spring Mountain Winery, learning wine-making techniques and sensory evaluation of wine alongside some of the very finest winemakers in the World.

Mr. Beckstoffer went on to spend time in Western Australia at Leeuwin Estate Winery, working as a winemaker while developing Australian grape growing and wine-making techniques.

In 1995, Mr. Beckstoffer returned to the Napa Valley where he began to produce his own wines. In 1997, He produced Tuck Beckstoffer Cabernet for the first time. The 1997 vintage of Tuck Beckstoffer Cabernet Sauvignon went on to garner some of the highest praises ever awarded to an inaugural Napa Valley Cabernet. From there Tuck went on to found Tuck Beckstoffer Wines which now owns and produces several of California’s most revered wines.
