Joseph George

Our ranch in Yountville grows Sauvignon Blanc Grapes. Planted in 2001, our first 2003 Sauvignon Blanc was released in May of 2004. The vineyard is located in the heart of the Napa valley. Its purpose is to grow the best Sauvignon grapes! With Randy Mason as our winemaker, we are proud of the quality that we have achieved, winning over many ‘red only’ drinkers as their favorite white wine. We are proud to be the House white for many of Napa Valley's winemakers and owners.

Joseph George has a rich history dating back to 1940 when it began as a Distributor of candy, tobacco, coca-cola syrup, liquor, wine & beer. Mr. George’s son, Glenn George, took the company to new heights, making Joseph George Distributor one of the largest distributors in Northern California.

Today, Bert George is President of Joseph George Distributor and third generation in the business. In 1970, Bert began in the warehouses with a broom, on the trucks as a helper and in the “breakage room” as the last man on the totem pole. Bert’s passion for wine began at an early age, and lead him to open the company’s first retail shop in San Jose. In 2001 Bert established Joseph George Vineyard in Yountville.
