At Turnbull Wine Cellars we craft our award-winning wine using fruit sourced from our four stellar estate vineyards which are located in the Oakville and Calistoga AVA appellations. This diversity of fruit sourcing and exemplary viticultural work allows our winemaking team the ability to create wines with distinctive flavors that capture the personality of each site.
Taste our award-winning estate wines in the Estate Tasting Room and our Black Label Reserve and Single Vineyard Designate Cabernet Sauvignons in the Reserve Room Gallery. Enjoy an world-class, all-original photography exhibit featuring such notable photographers as Berenice Abbott, Ansel Adams, Imogen Cunningham, Edward Curtis, Lewis Hine, William Henry Jackson, Dorothea Lange, Man Ray, Paul Strand, Edward Weston and more. The Gallery exhibit rotates twice a year and is always complimentary.
As independent grape growers who also make wine, we control the process from "grape to glass".
The Turnbull name goes back to the early 1300's when a court member of Robert the Bruce saved the king's life by turning a ferocious bull which had threatened to gore the king. The grateful king dubbed his subject "Turnbull".
Renowned Bay Area architect William Turnbull founded Johnson Turnbull Vineyards in 1979. Turnbull won several awards for his work on Fisher Winery, Cakebread Cellars and Newton Vineyards. He designed Turnbull Cellars to be low key and in tune with its environment. It's a classic example of a small, hands-on Napa Valley winery.

This diversity of fruit sourcing and exemplary viticultural work allows our winemaking team the ability to create wines with distinctive flavors that capture the personality of each site. Soils vary from deeper alluvial fans on the valley floor to the shallow, volcanic and rocky structures of the hillsides.
• Estate Tasting Room – Taste our newly released wines from our estate grown vineyard.
• Taste our Single Vineyard Estate Grown Cabernets and other reserve wines in our Reserve Tasting Room and Gallery.
• World-Class Fine Art Photography and Wine Tasting- The Reserve Room Gallery, with its beautiful barrels, antique bar, and cathedral ceiling of exposed wood beams, is the perfect setting to taste our exceptional wines and view our latest fine art photography exhibit. Turnbull Wine Cellars has one of the largest permanent photography exhibition spaces on the west coast. Each show features 60 to 90 original, privately-owned works by Master Photographers including Ansel Adams, Edward Weston, Berenice Abbott, Eugene Atget, Andre Kertesz, Edward Steichen and Yousuf Karsh. You are invited to explore these stunning photographs while enjoying our award-winning estate wines. Our Gallery is open daily from 10:00 to 4:30. Admission is complimentary.
