NAPA VALLEY VINTNERS UNANIMOUSLY VOTE TO SUPPORT LOCAL MEASURE "I" THE PARKS AND OPEN SPACE INITIATIVE
10/13/2000 - The Napa Valley Vintners Board of Directors has voted unanimously to support Measure I, the local Napa County initiative to raise the hotel tax in unincorporated areas of the county from 10.5 percent to 12 percent and to use the increased revenues to improve the local quality of life.
"The Napa Valley Vintners believes this measure represents an opportunity for the County to provide more open space and recreational opportunities to its citizens. We also like the idea that it supports local conservation and watershed protection efforts," said Jack Stuart, NVV president and general manager and winemaker at Silverado Vineyards.
The Napa Valley Vintners is pleased to join the diverse group of local Measure I supporters including business, government, agriculture, environment and other interest groups favoring more parks and open space for Napa County.
The Napa Valley Vintners is a professional, nonprofit trade organization representing 181 Napa Valley wineries in marketing and promotional activities throughout the United States and abroad. NVV maintains a Web site at www.napavintners.com.
