Napa Valley Vintners Hits Milestone in Responsible Beverage Certifications
4/5/2010 - St Helena, CA--The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) non-profit trade association continues to lead the wine industry and is proud to announce that 500 winery hospitality and special event staff, county-wide, have been certified in the group's Responsible Beverage Service program. More than 145 volunteer beverage servers at the NVV's annual community fundraiser, Auction Napa Valley are included in this certification as well.
"The NVV's Responsible Beverage Service certification program, launched in 2008 in partnership with former California Alcoholic Beverage Control Director Jerry Jolly brought our service training program to a far higher level," said NVV Executive Director Linda Reiff.
The NVV highlights its "Live Responsibly, Drink Responsibly" campaign at all of its wine tasting venues for trade and consumers not only locally, but across the country and around the world. The association continues to work with the California Highway Patrol as well as other local and regional law enforcement in this effort.
NVV's Responsible Beverage Service program is a two-year, third-party certification and looks to be a great compliment to the City of Napa's new requirements. The NVV will soon launch an online course, and will once again certify all beverage volunteers for its 30th annual community fundraiser, Auction Napa Valley--The American Wine Classic, coming June 3-6.
