Napa Valley Vintners Launch Japanese Version of Web Site
4/1/2004 - St. Helena, CA - Excited about the opportunities to educate Japanese consumers and to grow the wine market for Napa Valley wines in Japan, the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) has launched a Japanese-language version of its English-language consumer Web site. The Japanese version of the site may be found at www.napawine.jp.
The new site was launched today and will be demonstrated for the first time in Japan at a trade tasting in Tokyo on Monday, April 19, 2004.
"The Japanese speaking community worldwide is a major market for producers of Napa Valley wines," said Jay Schuppert, president of Cuvaison Winery and chair of the NVV's international committee. "Wine consumption in Japan is growing exponentially and we hope to capture that interest by making it easier for consumers to learn about Napa Valley wines in their native language," he said.
The NVV conducts scores of visits to domestic and international markets each year. This year, more than 25 wineries will be traveling to Asia for wine tastings in Japan, China, Korea and Hong Kong.
The Napa Valley Vintners wine tastings in Japan are as follows:

The new Japanese-language Web site was designed by Antonio Kamiya, chief executive officer, Kamiya Consulting, Inc., Berkeley, California, www.kamiya.com. The site was translated into Japanese by Yasko Cadby, wine communications specialist, Santa Rosa, California.
