Auction Napa Valley Introduces Global E-Auction
4/10/2006 - St Helena, CA-The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) announced today the launch of a Global E-Auction as a signature component of the world-famous Auction Napa Valley (ANV).
Last year saw the introduction of the E-Auction, a high-tech twist on bidding for Napa Valley wines, private events and luxury items donated by vintners to ANV. Auction attendees placed bids via kiosks located throughout the Friday Auction & Festival grounds.
This year, wine-lovers everywhere will be able to take part. From May 19 through June 2, people around the world will be able to log on to their computers to bid on the E-Auction, placing pre-bids and maximum bids. On June 2, the bidding action heats up with bidders at kiosks at the Napa Valley event dueling with bidders from around the globe for these one-of-a-kind treasures. Bids close at 2:45pm, pacific daylight time on June 2. Auction guests will be able to watch the real-time results of the last rounds of bidding from oversize screens on site.
ANV is the granddaddy of charity of wine auctions which has raised over $62 million dollars for health care, youth services and low income housing over the past 25 years. Now in its 26th edition, ANV will take place in Napa Valley from June 1-4, 2006 and is chaired by the Cakebread Family of Cakebread Cellars.
Now in our seventh decade, the Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) trade association is the sole organization responsible for promoting and protecting the Napa Valley Appellation as a winegrowing region second to none in the world. Respect for our history reinforces our commitment to the preservation and enhancement of the Valley's land, wine, and community for future generations. We address the shared interests of our more than 270 members and aspire to be the essential organization for all Napa Valley vintners.
