Alpha Omega

Cases: 5
Varietal: Red Wine
Vintage: 2008
Release Date: January - 2011
Appellation: Napa Valley

Lot Number: 79

Lot Description:
Alpha Omega's extraordinary winemakers, along with historic vineyards, combine to create wines that express the essence of Napa Valley. Talented young winemaker Jean Hoefliger has teamed with one of the world's finest palates, Michel Rolland, to create elegant, approachable and perfectly balanced wines by blending the best of Old World and New World wine styles.

This Premiere offering comes from Napa Valley's finest vineyards: Beckstoffer To Kalon in Oakville, Newton Vineyard on Spring Mountain and Stagecoach Vineyard on Atlas Peak. Utilizing all of the best Bordeaux varietals—Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot—this wine's concentration and complexity shows the perfect balance between American power, French elegance and Italian passion.

Winemaker's notes: Due to the low yield year with small berry size, we had very high concentration in this vintage. It allows us to have very extracted reds with big structure and soft tannins

Ashe Family Vineyards

Cases: 5
Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon
Vintage: 2008
Release Date: November - 2010
Appellation: Oakville

Lot Number: 129

Lot Description:
This one-of-a-kind wine, hand crafted by Philippe Melka, comes from the most special acre within a 35-acre family-estate Oakville vineyard. The hallmark of this wine is that it is hand destemmed, a rare, old world winemaking technique. Only one other French producer is known for this pain-staking technique which results in the purest expression of fruit possible. This wine is hand made throughout: it is meticulously groomed and manicured in the field in a manner only feasible for one acre, then hand destemmed and barrel fermented, never touching harsh machinery.

Astrale e Terra

Cases: 5
Varietal: Syrah
Vintage: 2007
Release Date: February - 2011
Appellation: Atlas Peak

Lot Number: 189

Lot Description:
The powerful forces of "heaven and earth" inspired the name Astrale e Terra, a boutique winery founded by wine-loving friends to showcase the special terroir of the Atlas Peak Appellation. We make wine 1,250 feet above the Napa Valley floor—where the volcanic soils, a location above the fog line, various microclimates among our rolling hills and dramatic temperature changes that occur daily throughout the growing season ensure that our wines have a spectacular character and flavor. Less than three acres of Syrah are planted in our estate vineyards, resulting in an extremely limited production of this special varietal. We searched through each barrel of this sumptuous Syrah and blended only the best of the best for this Premiere Napa Valley wine.

Atalon

Cases: 20
Varietal: Merlot
Vintage: 2008
Release Date: February - 2011
Appellation: Howell Mountain

Lot Number: 194

Lot Description:
The W.S. Keyes Vineyard Estate traces its origins back to the 1880s, when William S. Keyes began producing award-winning wines from the volcanic soils on top of Howell Mountain.

Beyond the historical significance of the vineyard, the geology and elevation are central to what makes the W.S. Keyes wine tick. The vineyard namesake was a respected geologist in the late 1800s who understood the importance of soil to making exceptional wine. The decision to plant there continues to resonate today: the vines grow in nutrient-poor soil of reddish-brown clay over white volcanic tufa at over 1,800 feet, both of which conspire to yield Merlot that is decidedly different, with exceptional concentration, minerality and structural integrity.
