In late 2011 Napa Valley was named the Official Wine Region of the 34th America's Cup, coming to San Francisco in 2013. This designation was achieved as the result of a partnership between the Napa Valley Vintners and the Napa Valley Destination Council, the local visitor-serving entity, and is supported by Napa County.
