Napa Vintners Appoint Dragon Phoenix to Represent Trade Group in China

7/9/2012 - St Helena, CA—Napa Valley Vintners (NVV), the non-profit trade association of 430 Napa Valley wineries announces that Dragon Phoenix Wine Consulting has been retained to represent them in mainland China. With the rapidly growing interest in wine from California’s renowned Napa Valley increasing every year the trade group moved to have full-time, in-market representation.

“Over the past 14 years we have trade missions to Shanghai and Beijing, and this past year, and our first-ever educational intensive to Napa Valley bringing top accounts and media. Our vintners are very focused on the China market so the timing is right for us to have even greater presence there,” said Linda Reiff, NVV’s executive director.

In other efforts to reach key ambassadors and buyers in China, the NVV recently launched a Chinese language website at www.napavintners.com/cn and a group of vintners just returned from Vinexpo Asia-Pacific.

Dragon Phoenix, established by Fongyee Walker and Edward Ragg in 2007, is one of China’s Wine and Spirits Educational Trust (WSET) providers and is known for providing solid market research. This year-round in-market office complements similar NVV international efforts already in place in the UK and Japan.

The Napa Valley Vintners is the non-profit trade association responsible for promoting and protecting the Napa Valley appellation as the premier winegrowing region. From seven founding members in 1944, today the association represents 430 Napa Valley wineries and collectively is a leader in the world-wide wine industry.
