Afternoon in the Vineyards

Vineyard practices shared with community members

4/5/2011 - The 11th annual Afternoon in the Vineyards, a collaboration between the Napa Valley Grapegrowers and the Napa Valley Vintners showcasing Napa County winegrowing practices, will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 2:30 - 4:00pm.

The community is invited to meet growers and winery owners in the vineyards as vines begin to bud out, signaling the beginning of the growing season. These informal gatherings of residents with vineyard managers and winery owners allow neighbors to meet one another and learn about the grape growing process, innovative farming techniques, and the strategies that produce exceptional quality Napa Valley wines. Residents will also learn more about the Napa Valley's internationally recognized commitment to environmental stewardship through programs such as Napa Green Certified Land.

Walk down the vineyard rows, taste the wines and see for yourself what makes Napa Valley the premier winegrowing region. The event is a causal (wear your boots) open house, complimentary for all Napa County residents and their guests. Visit any - or several - of the locations.
