30th Anniversary of the World's Most Successful Charity Wine Auction

 

 

3/1/2010 - St Helena, CA--The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV), the non-profit, professional trade organization representing nearly 400 Napa Valley wineries and responsible for the promotion and protection of the Napa Valley appellation, announces that tickets for its annual fundraiser Auction Napa Valley (ANV) 2010, to be held June 3-6, will go on sale March 31, 2010.

The Honorary Chairs of this year's event are Mary Novak and Beth Novak Milliken of Napa Valley's renowned Spottswoode Estate Vineyard and Winery. The mother and daughter team will showcase the authentic, natural beauty of the Napa Valley and the collaborative spirit of the vintners and the community hosting the event, all while raising needed funds for healthcare, youth services and affordable housing non-profit programs.

Welcome to the Valley Private Parties
Casual parties hosted by vintners for full-package attendees, this is a terrific way to take a breath, unwind and begin the quintessential wine country weekend with vintners hosting in their homes and wineries.

Friday, June 4
Taste Napa Valley at Auction Napa Valley
The consummate Napa Valley food and wine grand tasting features 100 plus wineries pouring wines alongside 60 signature local restaurateurs and artisan food producers, set al fresco, at the historic Rubicon Estate in Rutherford.

The Perennial Favorite... Barrel Auction
A tasting unlike any other, with samples 'thieved' right from the barrel by the winemaker, this annual robust, crowd-pleasing barrel tasting and futures auction will offer case lots from 100 Napa Valley wineries in the cool of Rubicon's cellar at the Friday event.

The E-Auction Continues...
Launching around the world throughout the month of May, the final of four rounds of online auctions closes at the Friday event. This on-line member of the Auction trilogy, the E-Auction is a virtual Napa Valley experience from the comfort of your home or office. This is the perfect way to be a part of the event even if schedules don't allow you to attend Auction Napa Valley. This year vintners will offer more than 100 incredible lots of luxury items, rare wines, travel, and vintner-hosted events. The E-Auction brings Auction Napa Valley to the world.

Friday Evening Bidder Private Dinner Parties
A bidder favorite and a long-standing tradition of Auction Napa Valley, "Classic" full package holders will experience pull-out-the stops, fabulous, more intimate fetes with winemakers in their homes and wineries, many featuring star chefs from around the country.

Saturday, June 5
The Centerpiece of Auction Napa Valley... the Live Auction
Four Day package holders will begin the Auction day with a walk-around tasting lunch prepared by a dozen top chefs—the men’s team of culinary stars.
Then, bidders will then vie for 41 rare and one-of-a-kind lots at the event's centerpiece Live Auction on Saturday afternoon at the elegant Meadowood Napa Valley.
After the hoopla of the Live Auction, and as the sun begins to set, the Auction Supper will be served on the fairway at Meadowood as the lady's team of culinary super-stars present the evening's meal. But the fun isn't over yet as the Spottswoode team has a secret, special guest to kick the party back into high-gear with dancing under the stars…more to be revealed…

The Farewell Reception
Here's your chance to meet 2011's ANV chair family and tie the weekend up with a bow at a late-morning food, music and wine fest at Meadowood Napa Valley as vintner's bid farewell.

NVV's Community Promise
Auction Napa Valley, an annual fundraiser of the NVV, has given $90 million since 1981 for a host of non-profits in Napa County. In 2007, the NVV made a $25 million promise to the community, ensuring that the Auction will distribute a minimum of $5 million to its beneficiaries each year over the next five years. Any funds raised in excess will also be distributed to beneficiaries each year.
