Napa in your pajamas--Auction Napa Valley's Online E-Auction Ready to Preview

Wine lovers from around the globe can plan their strategy now!

5/13/2009 - St Helena, CA- In this crazy economy, who wouldn't love to get in on some great Napa Valley wine, or a fantastic excursion with a vintner, all in the name of doing good? The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV) non-profit trade association of nearly 350 member wineries from the renowned winegrowing region, announces that the online E-Auction of its annual fundraiser, Auction Napa Valley, is ready for preview and that bidding will begin on May 22.

Check out the 110 lots of wine offered in large format, or one-of-a-kind bottles, or verticals, or cellar collections, many partnered with vintner-hosting outings that will offer wine lovers a chance to hone their cellars while raising funds for healthcare, youth development and affordable housing non-profit programs.

"I’m overwhelmed by the wines being offered this year. We thought wineries might be less forthcoming in a tough economic year, but what we see is that our vintners pulled out all the stops," said Janet Trefethen, who along with her family are the chairs of Auction Napa Valley 2009.

Key dates for the E-Auction include:

 Now: E-Auction lots can be previewed online, and consumers can register online to bid, at www.napavintners.com

 May 22: E-Auction launches and bidding begins.

 June 5: E-Auction closes and bidding ends at 2pm and 2:30pm Pacific Time

"Now more than ever, Auction Napa Valley is the place to find and acquire some of the world's most prized wines. And who can beat that when it's for charity," said Rick Jones, NVV board of director's CFO.

He continued, "With the E-Auction, there is no dress code--you can bid in your pajamas if you want to from anywhere in the world and enjoy a virtual Napa Valley experience!"

Bidding for the E-Auction opens on May 22nd and end on June 5th when the action heats up with bidders at the Napa Valley auction event dueling with online bidders from around the globe for these treasures. Bidders will be able to find out the real-time results via on-site screens at the auction or from the comfort of their own homes.
