Auction Napa Valley Friday-Only Festival Tickets Sell-Out in Three Hours

Despite Down Economy, Full Packages Selling at Brisk Pace as Well

3/31/2009 - St Helena, CA - The Napa Valley Vintners (NVV),non-profit trade association that hosts the annual community fundraiser Auction Napa Valley (ANV) announces that tickets for the renowned charity wine auction went on sale today and within three hours the a la carte Friday-only Taste Napa Valley Festival tickets were sold out. Additionally, the Classic full packages for the entire weekend's auctions, soirees and private lunches and dinners were selling at a brisk clip.

ANV Board President Paula Kornell of Oakville Ranch Winery said, "We are thrilled with this response to the 2009 Auction today. Given this economy, we are projecting just a fraction of the income of previous year's auctions for our charities. When the ticket sales went live today, something must have been in the air. The outpouring of enthusiasm from attendees planning to join us in June is spectacular."

"The support from both the visiting bidders and our local bidders is heartwarming," said NVV Executive Director Linda Reiff. She continued, "More than seventy percent of the ticket sales have been purchased by Napa Valley residents, many of whom have told us how grateful they are that the Auction is proceeding as planned for '09. We feel a commitment to our local charities and we are going to do our best to raise needed funds for our hospitals, children's healthcare, after school programs, affordable housing and all the beneficiaries. Now, more than ever, we all have to work that much harder to ensure the health and well-being of our community."

NVV's Community Promise
ANV, the annual fundraiser of the NVV, has given $85 million since 1981 for a host of non-profits in Napa County. In 2007, the NVV made a $25 million promise to the community, ensuring that the Auction will distribute a minimum of $5 million to its beneficiaries each year over the next five years. Any funds raised in excess will also be distributed to beneficiaries each year.

Classic full package tickets at $2500 per person and All-American day package tickets at $1000 per person are still available. Classic packages offer bidders the entire Auction festivities from Thursday through Sunday including the private dinner parties with vintners and the Live Auction and dinner at Meadowood Napa Valley. All-American day packages include Taste Napa Valley Friday Festival as well as a Saturday private lunch with vintners and the Sunday Farewell Fete.
